 DEER Water Heater Calculator (DWHC) v.4.2a added to deerresources.com:

• The DWHC v.4.2a is made available as an update for the DWHC v.4.2 EnergyImpactID NG-WtrHt-LrgInst-Gas-gte200kBtuhlt2G-0p96Et. It is not intended to be used for other measures.
• The v.4.2a version changes the method for determining the Normalizing unit (NormUnit) for UES. Rather than use the input capacity of the measure case TechnologyID (as v.4.2 does), v.4.2a uses a value equal to the capacity necessary to satisfy the building's peak hot water load.

An updated water heater calculator package is available here within DEER-WaterHeater-Package-v4.2.zip. The package contains:

• The water heater baseline and measure cases were updated using the DEER-CEC-AHRI-WH-binning-TechID-v4.2.xlsx workbook.
• The water heater calculator, DEER-WaterHeater-Calculator-v4.2.xlsm, was updated to generate new measures using the updated baseline and measure cases.
• The water heater calculator documentation was updated and is titled DEER-WaterHeater-Documentation-v4.2.pdf.

The DEER water heater calculator was revised (DEER-WaterHeater-Calculator-v4.2.xlsm) and the corrected EnergyImpact records (784 out of 62,145 water heater records) were uploaded to the PEAR and ExAnte databases. The erroneous records have also been removed from both databases and are no longer available for use.

• The water heater calculator documentation was updated and is titled DEER-WaterHeater-Documentation-v4.1.pdf.

The above files are available within the DEER_WaterHeater_Package_v4.1.zip. The measures and energy impacts provided within the water heater package will be effective as of 2021-01-01. All prior water heater measures and associated energy impacts will expire as of 2020-12-31.
